Loneliness: What Got Us Here and What Do We Do About It

Loneliness was declared a public health crisis in 2023 by the U.S. Surgeon General, but many aspects of loneliness remain unclear to Americans. This webinar provides the definitions of loneliness, a review of data supporting the extent of loneliness among the general population, and its damaging effects to our physical and mental health. The good news though, is that loneliness does not have to be a chronic issue; the webinar will conclude by providing practical strategies to move through the experience of loneliness based on current empirical research and increase social connectedness in realistic and manageable ways.
