SGS 2024 Advocacy in Aging Virtual Forum
SGS Advocacy Forums - a benefit of an SGS membership.
Find Your Place in Advocating for Disaster Planning and Response for older adults. This two-day virtual forum provided opportunities to explore challenges, highlight best practices, and discuss ways for attendees to become more involved in addressing disaster planning and response activities within their own organizations and communities. We heard from local, state, national and international voices on disaster response networks, best practices, key resources and training, and volunteer opportunities.
Day 1 - October 15, 2024
Housing availability, affordability, and accessibility are emergent concerns for older adults. Join the Southern Gerontological Society for a two-day forum focusing on housing innovations that support safe and stable housing for all. Attendees will learn about models in permanent and translational housing and the connection between social factors and their impacts.
