Assistant Professor - Appalachian State University

The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track, nine-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2017. The position requires a Ph.D. in Sociology. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, however the position requires completion of all doctoral requirements in Sociology by September 15, 2017. Instructional duties typically include a 3:3 teaching load, student advising, curriculum development, and will entail online instruction. Faculty members are expected to maintain an active program of scholarship as well as participate in service activities.

This volunteer will solicit and schedule outside and member volunteers for staff and program support and help us continue to build a successful program for seniors (aged 50 +) in the Richmond region. (Hospital Elder Life Program). They are currently recruiting reliable, caring, mature individuals to visit older adult patients and provide assistance with daily visits, orientation, therapeutic activities, and meal time tray set up. HELP is based upon award winning clinical trial at Yale University that is designed to prevent delirium and functional decline in hospitalized older patients 65 years of age and older.
